The idea behind 'Rhoslab' initially sprung to mind during Rhoda's second year of university studying for her BSc in Biochemistry. For most, university is a time of great anxiety where you're having to make decisions that will shape your whole life. Rhoda began to notice changes to her physical appearance due to stress and lack of care, which was emphasised greatly in her skin. Simultaneously, Rhoda noticed a deterioration to her mental health - feeling fairly anxious than normal, reduction in confidence and sleep deprivation.
Is Physical health and Mental health related?
Rhoda began experimenting with natural skin care products whilst involving herself with positive self care rituals and noticed a significant improvement in her overall physical health and mental well-being.
Rhoda wanted to create a brand that builds on the doctrines of 'Psychodermatology' which is the treatment of skin disorders using psychological techniques by addressing the interaction between mind and skin.
Rhoslab emphasises the intersection between skin, mental health and self care and empowers people who are dealing with stressful, traumatic experiences take control of their own self care. This is done through informative talks, 1:1 coaching and workshops which cultivate Rhoda's extensive experience working in Education, BSc Biochemistry and MSc Psychology.
